Label Printers

Label printers are perfect printing solutions for individuals and businesses who prefer to create labels for various purposes. These printers are more cost effective than having one’s printing done by a third party. They provide high print quality and fast turnaround time.
Label printers are machines that print on self-adhesive label materials and tags. These printers differ from ordinary printers as they require a special feed mechanism to handle rolled stock or tear sheet stock. They have the ability to quick print small quantities of labels, thereby helping end use industries to improve productivity.
Rising applications of label printers in supply chain management, packaging labels, fixed assets, retail price marking, and laboratory specimen marking is a key factor expected to boost the global label printer’s industry.
The types of printing on the label can be quite varied. While text is nearly always included, there are printers available that can also incorporate images (to make it more appealing to the end user, or help identify the product in the package), QR codes (which can store a great deal of information), and barcodes (which also can store much information).
The choice of a label printing system depends on the individual needs of a company. When assessing which label printing system should be used, different factors must be taken into account, such as the type of label that must be printed (e.g. address labels, decorative labels) or the material used to print them (e.g. aluminum labels, acetate silk labels).
Factors like cost or speed should also be considered when choosing a labeling printing machine. For example, inkjet printers can save companies a lot of money as they do not require the manufacturing and application of labels.
Direct Thermal Printers:
The direct thermal printing method uses heat-sensitive media that blackens when a thermal printhead is passed over it, creating your print. So direct thermal printers have no ink, toner or ribbon, because of this it is considered the “simpler” method. Due to direct thermal printers using only one specific type of media and not needing a ribbon, they generally have a lower running cost than thermal transfer printers and do not require as much maintenance. This is ideal for businesses that want a lower cost of ownership over time, and do not have as much initial budget.
This means less supplies and lower maintenance costs overall. Direct thermal is a versatile choice as it can be used in industrial, desktop, and mobile printers. Because it uses heat-sensitive materials, direct thermal labels do not have a long shelf-life, usually lasting around six to eight months. They have a tendency to scratch easily, and overexposure to direct sunlight or high temperatures will cause the print to fade faster.
Common Applications Of Direct Thermal Labels
Direct thermal labels are a mainstay in many industries, including food service, retail, pharmaceuticals, and shipping, where they are used for short- to medium-term labeling applications. As direct thermal printing technology continues to improve, they will likely be incorporated into an even wider range of industrial applications.
Typical uses for direct thermal labels include:
Product
Barcodes
Packaging and
shipping labels
Name tag and
visitor passes
Event tickets
and coupons
Food Labeling labels
Receipts
Laser Printers
A laser printer is a type of photocopier machine that uses laser light and toner to print a document. A laser printer uses a selenium coated drum which uses electrical charges for printing purpose. The laser light makes print by mixing electrical charges and toner. After printing is complete the electrical charges and extra toner is removed from the page.
Laser printers use new technology to print and are fast in performance. There are many types of laser printers including personal and commercial used printers. If you want to print a large amount of printing then laser printers are economic. For text printing laser printers is the best choice. The laser printer has one advantage that toner does not become dry as we see in an inkjet printer. In an inkjet printer, the color cartridge becomes dry after 10-15 days.
Laser printers get their name because they use laser technology to transfer the images you print to paper. The fastest printer option, a laser printer typically has a higher purchase price but the overall cost of ownership tends to be less than that of an inkjet printer. For example, although the upfront cost of laser toner cartridge may seem high, the cartridge often lasts for thousands of pages, possibly reducing the number of replacements needed each year. As a result, a laser printer often provides the best solution for black and white printing. Color laser models are available; however, they don’t provide superior, high-resolution photo prints.
